The Salmon Fly Pattern :
Hook: TMC 200R size 4-6
Thread: 6/0 Fire orange
Underbody: Pumpkin orange foam 1/4” strips wrapped 2/3 of the way up hook shank.
Body: Brown larva lace wrapped over foam.
Wing: Dark elk hair over orange dubbing.
Thorax: Burnt orange dubbing.
Head: Black deer hair tied bullet style - hair should extend 1/2 way up elk hair wing.
Legs: Medium black rubber round.
Tip: Fish this Salmon Fly pattern at the mouth of Beaver Creek in late April or early May...then hold on.
