Fly Fish BC Rivers
"The world a river is, both you and I, and all mankind are either fish or fry"
-Sir Isaac Walton
Fly fishing British Columbia rivers is one of my most satisfying pastimes. British Columbia's topography, its steep mountains and deep river valleys, create thousands of streams and rivers offering countless fly fishing opportunities. In the Kootenays alone I have the option of fishing world-class waters such as the Columbia, Elk, St. Mary's, Wigwam and Bull Rivers, not to mention the great rivers of northern BC and Vancouver Island.
In BC rivers you have the opportunity to fish for almost every species of sport fish depending on the time of year. Most streams, however, are closed from April 1 to June 15 to protect their prime spawning times but other large rivers, like the Columbia, are open year round. Whether it's large salmon or the elusive steelhead, colourful brook trout or cutthroat, rainbow or bull trout, walleye or even bass that you are after, British Columbia rivers have something for everyone.
So if you crave adventure and and want to explore the many mountain streams or book an exciting guided trip down one of British Columbia's rivers, the options are many and varied. Join me as I fly fish the many streams and rivers of BC, and depending on the time of year, the species of fish, and the techniques employed, I will try to inform you as best I can the countless opportunities that the rivers of BC offer.
